50 % Shiraz 50 % Malbec

The Malbec brings the distinctive purple colour as well as plum and mulberry aromas. The Shiraz provides some lifted berry fruits and some roundness on the palate.

Natural yeasts. Fruit was 100 % destemmed. Aged in older french barriques. The oak is in the background allowing the fruit to shine through.

Gathering Field Shiraz Malbec 2021

A gorgeous bright crimson purple. I’ve not come across this shiraz/malbec blend before but from what was a great vintage in the Yarra Valley, this totally works. Dark plums, blackberries, smoked meats and black pepper aromas abound.The stylish palate is concentrated and very well balanced with ripe fine-grained tannins. Screw cap. 13% alc. Rating 96. Gathering Field Shiraz Malbec 2021

A 50/50 blend. No bunches. Old French oak.

Fresh blackberry, exotic spice, a little grilled meat, dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied, but very concentrated, deep and chewy with a distinct ‘mineral’ character to acidity, dark tobacco, and a long slate-y finish. So distinctive and really very impressive.
